Ash Bulayev

ASH BULAYEV was born in Kiev, Ukraine. He is currently a co-Artistic Director of amorphy.org.

While making a prolonged detour in New York he has created Resistance Theater, working as a co-Artistic Director and member from 1999-2001. He has created multiple original productions ranging from site-specific/multi-location work, interactive installations to dance/theater projects in U.S.A., Spain, Germany, Egypt, and Greece. Recently, he was an invited artist at the 2nd Interaktionslabor (Interactive Media Lab), Gottelborn-Germany in July 2004 where he presented a live/interactive installation, ³Shedding³. He presented his new work Invisible Cities 1.0 at the Napoli Biannale in April 2005 and Urban Festival, Croatia in September 2005. His work was also last seen internationally at the 11th Biennale in Athens, 2003, and Dock11, Berlin in September 2004.

He is the Project Director for EU program i-MAP (Integration of Media And Performance) for 2005-2006 (www.amorphy.org/imap). He has also worked in collaboration with: Proto-type Theater Co., Piper-Mckenzie Theater, CanFactory Inc., CTI (active member), Anne Bogart and SITI, Bread and Puppet Theater, Alien Action, Madagascar Institute, Blackkat Collective, One Arm Red Theater, Flambe-Volupte, GoodBad Art Collective, The Rooster Theater (New Orleans), The End of The World Circus, Museum of Sound Recording (NYC & Amsterdam), Legion of Black Poets, Love Sphere, Stephan Hintsches (Munich), SPAZ, DefCore Collective and political/social groups: Reclaim the Streets (NYC and London), Uhuru Movement, Free Mummia.

He is a Ph.D. candidate at the i-DAT Research Center at the University of Plymouth.
