Profile:
dancer, choreographer, founder and artistic director of Tran-Chan dance Co. (1980), which has produced over 15 plays, awarded the support of the secretary of culture of Bahia and prizes from the National Foundation for the Arts.
The company performed and participated in Festivals in major cities of Brazil, Chile (estacion Mapocho and Oz space), Germany (tanztangente) and in the USA (La mama Theater, MTI Movement Theater International and Painted Bride).

Work:
Associated Professor of the Federal University of Bahia (1980-present)
Professor of the School of Dance, teacher of undergraduation courses of contemporary dance and physical preparation (Pilates, Yoga, conditioning lab.) and methods and tchniques for the invention of movement as well (improvisation and composition). Also teaches in the school of theater in the graduate courses of Seminars and in Special Topics (choreography and embodiment).
Responsible for research group Choreography and embodiment, which studies theory, aesthetics and history of modern and contemporary dance: founding texts, definitions, concepts on the body generated by philosophy and human science.


Publications:
In recent years published in the Proceedings of the Brazilian Research Association of Performing Arts (ABRACE) Verfremdung e Tanztheater (2004), Body and staging, the instruments of actor and thedancer (2007). In Notebooks of Gipe Cit-Modern Dance and Tanztheater, the genesis of a choreographic form (2008), and collaborated with the chapter Pina Bausch and Maguy Marin, theatricality and contemporary dance, for the book Dança Cênica of Editora Letra d'Agua, 2008. Bausch and Brecht: tanztheatre and epic drama, for the II Seminar of Dance Theater, in 2009. On the categories of dance, in the proceedings of the ABRACE, 2010.
