Katsura Isobe is an independent dance artist. Katsura's practice is drawn from Somatic approach, which focuses on moving
from inside-out, as a result of body-mind integration. She enjoys finding different inter-relationships in performance creations, and has strong interest in unconventional flexible formats of performance, as well as conventional set ones in theatres. Her collaboration experience includes Carol Brown (site-specific, interactive installation), Caroline Collinge (costume design), Thomas Kampe (Feldenkrais® Method and improvisation), Stephanie Schober (contemporary dance), Paul Verity Smith (sensor interaction) and Fulvio Rubesa (Photography).

Katsura holds BA Dance and Dance Education at Ochanomizu University, Tokyo, Japan, and MA Scenography [Dance] at Laban Centre London. Alongside of creative works, Katsura has taught contemporary dance technique and choreography in some colleges and universities, and currently teaches Pilates based body conditioning as a qualified teacher.
