Artist Statement
As an artist and professional environmentalist, I am interested in boundaries
and connections - between physical and virtual, imagined and real, natural
and constructed - that place that defines existence/identity, that place where
one meets, connects and is stretched and transformed to other. I also am committed
to building connections and community partly through interactivity and play.
Chairs delineate space, providing a location of perspectives
in and of space and points of view, evoking a boundary between action / movement
and contemplation/stillness/fixed, between participation and observation,
public open and private contained, single chairs or grouped chairs imply individual
relationships.
Project Plan:
In this project I want the audience to experiment and play with different
perspectives and viewpoints between that of projected to that of being projected
upon, between me, the artist, and you, of the audience, between stillness
/ passivity and movement/action; between being a tourist or being a local
- within the context of Tibet and China relations, diaspora, identity and
healing .
